According to Venezuela’s Ministry of Health, more than 35 laboratory-confirmed cases of yellow fever (YF), a significant increase over average incidence, have been reported since June 2025 throughout the country, mainly in Aragua, Barinas, Lara, and Portuguesa states. Additionally, epizootic events have been reported in Aragua, Apure, Barinas, Carabobo, Cojedes, Gu?rico, Lara, and Portuguesa states. The last YF outbreak occurred in 2021. Proof of vaccination (administered at least 10 days prior to travel) is required for travelers going to Aragua, Barinas, Lara, and Portuguesa states. All travelers should observe insect precautions; mosquitoes that transmit YF can bite throughout the day but have peak activity in the early morning, late afternoon, and evening.
